Pebblebed Swim Academy is a specialist swim school located near Whimple in Devon, just two minutes from the Daisymount junction on the A30. Operating from a warm, welcoming pool facility, the academy specialises in teaching swimming to neurodiverse and neurodivergent individuals of all ages and abilities, including those with autism and PDA.
Founded by Claire, a parent of neurodivergent children and experienced leisure professional, the academy addresses a significant gap in inclusive extracurricular activities. Claire's personal experience navigating the challenges of finding suitable activities for her children inspired her to establish this venture. She holds specialist qualifications including STA Level 2 Teaching Swimming, Autism Swim Certification, PDA and Aquatics training, and disability swimming qualifications, plus Makaton signing at levels 1-4.
The academy offers individually tailored sessions combining aquatic therapy with water safety education. These include one-to-one lessons, two-to-one sessions, and small group classes. Notably, they provide carer and swimmer lessons where parents and carers actively participate, creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
